I just paid $734 including tax on my 98 studio. I picked it up at a big music store in Richmond VA. It has Groover tuners, black mat finish, and all sorts of character. The beauty of any used guitar is that they all have a story. Buying new you may have no scratches and get all the pretty tags but you miss out on any personalty the older Guitars carry.
well it's not exactly hard to find , shoot for 60-70% what you paid for it if you plan to sell it.
to get the best possible price collectors are after essentially a never played guitar , no upgrades and an original case but at the same time want to know if it's a studio , standard , custom ...ect one.
just bought a used 1994 les paul studio wine red with gold hardware for 600.00 bucks at my local guitar center. best deal i have seen in the last year or so. most listings a saw i.e. Craigslist and e-bay they were going for around 700.00 to 750.00. Couldn't pass on this deal and it plays great. hope this helped.
