As always with these things, it was a mixture of talent, hard work and luck.

Obviously, they were talented - but they had a huge work ethic; mainly from Paul and George's influence. They were lucky in who became their manager and producer and in their timing; they became famous when there was a large percentage of young people - the "baby boomer" generation were just becoming teenagers.
