I don't think they were metal; to me they sound more like heavy blues rock. But aside from that, Black Sabbath formed earlier, and in contrast, were and are definitely metal. In fact, Judas Priest (whom no-one bar Gerard Way will say are not a metal band) formed the same year as Zeppelin.

Anybody who simply listens to Metal or anybody from other genres of music would probably say the Metal is just music. Some arrogant idiots with no taste wouldn't even call it music, but i, being a true Metal Head through and through, and i speak here on behalf of all true Metal heads, know that Metal isn't just the most amazing and most beautiful music alive, it is with out a doubt a way of life. To belong to such a group of people, true Metal heads, is a honer to die for!

Slayer, because their music sucks. I wouldn't even call it music.
No, Aerosmith played hard rock, although some argue that it was the first step towards heavy metal, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it thrash metal.
Metal uses a type of vocals called "screaming" (im not sure why a lot of people call it screamo, screamo is not metal) these vocals consist of different types and styles of screams. Low or high growls are often used in metal and death metal. In hardcore music they often use fry screams, which are more vocally based instead of diaphram bassed like growls. Try youtube for turtorials of how to us screaming vocals. I must add, this style of music is not satanic or devil worshiping in anyway. Some bands are satanic, but it's not as common.
How heavy is heavy. Would you call a car heavy? would you call a bag of Potatoes heavy? They both are I suppose . Vehicles of all weights are weighed on a public Weigh-bridge. They can weigh very heavy loads up to about 100 Tonne, and are usually owned by local Councils. Objects more than about 10 Kilogram are usually weighed on a portable Weighing Platform. Example: Airports, Scrap Metal Buyers, Farmers, etc. use Weighing Platforms which are about 1Metre square, for weights in the approximate range of 5 to 500 Kilogram. Bathroom Scales can cope with up to about 150 Kg and are useful for weighing objects other than humans. Example: domestic luggage.
Apparently a neighbor heard a womans screams and called 911.
