She is a judge on American Idol, but she is also a artist/ singer from the 80's, and 90's era. You can check out some of her music on itunes.

Her strongest talent is DANCE. While she did have several top 40 hits as a pop singer in the 80s/early 90s, including "Forever Your Girl", "Straight Up", "Opposites Attract", "Rush, Rush" (her biggest hit in the US, at #1 on the Billboard charts for many weeks), and "Promise of a New Day", she is perhaps best remembered as a dancer/choreographer.

She choreographed many Music Videos during the beginning of the MTV era, including "Love is A Battlefield" for Pat Benatar and many others.

She was Janet Jackson's choreographer during Ms. Jackson's most popular period (mid-late 80s) and choreographed the music videos for "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "Nasty Boys" (also appearing in the video as a dancer).

Previously, she was a Lakers' Girl and also choreographed several of the routines for that group before moving to music videos.

She also helped to repopularize tap dancing, by tapping to pop music in several of her music videos.
