Sean Paul is a Cooley - a light skinned Jamaican.

[correction to previous post] My understanding is that the term "cooley" is regarded as highly pejorative, being derived from the Turkish word "kul,"meaning "slave" plus the Arabic genitive "ee" meaning "my." I believe the term comes from India where it had been introduced either during the Gawznawid or Mughal period from Central Asia and was spread by the British who understood the term to mean something like "servant." While not all kuls (Turkish "kular") were of low social status--in the Ottoman Empire they were often highly literate and learned powerful state coordinators--the term should surely be regarded as offensive. Sean Paul is a talented and accomplished artist, not a "cooley."
