It depends which Media Player you're using on which operating system. This will affect where the music is stored and in which format. When you copy a disc to your hard-drive your media player will compress it to a format that it can play back later. The most common is .WMA for Windows Media Player and .M4A for iTunes. Personally I'd recommend iTunes for either PC or MAC operating systems, but the format of the data you need depends on the program you're using to make the video. If you're using Windows Movie Maker you definitely need the music in .WMA format. Put the disc in your computer, open Windows Media Player from the start menu and select the 'Rip' tab once the program opens. Enter the song information then click 'Rip Disc'. By default this will store the music in your 'My Music' folder in 'My Documents' using sub folder groups based on your song info. To get the songs into Windows Movie Maker you need to go into the Windows Movie Maker, select 'Import' from the 'File' option on the menu bar and browse for the songs you need in the 'My Music' folder. Once you have done this the program will analyse the music ready for you to drag into the audio track on the arrange strip at the bottom of the screen. Alternitavely if you're using an Apple Mac running iLife the process is much simpler. All you need to do is insert the disc into your computer and boot up iTunes. As in Windows Media Player, enter the song info when the program recognises the presence of the disc. Once you have done this click 'Import Disc' at the bottom right hand corner of the pane. Once this is completed you will receive an audio notification. Next open iMovie. Both programs can be found in the Applications folder in Macintosh HD (which is always on your Desktop). Once iMovie is open click the icon for the Media pane which is in the bottom right hand corner of the pane. Once this slides out from the right click the 'Music' tab, then select the iTunes option from the list that appears. All you need do now is find your songs in the list that appears based on your itunes library, which can be made easier by using the ordering facilities (i.e. Artist, Album etc). Just drag the songs you need into the Audio section of the Arrange strip to correspond with your Video. Hope this was helpful well what you could do is put your CD in then you wait for the music to upload the copy and apste them? don't know if that would help but hope it will The problem with this is you need the disc in your drive to play the songs. Most of the time it saves the files as shortcuts to the songs on the CD rather than the actual song...
