Compressor will normally run when in defrost mode.
Without any further information than this I'm going to take a stab at this question. First, by saying air compressor, do you mean the blower that sends cold or hot air into the Jeep from the vents or do you have some kind of aftermarket air compressor? What year Jeep is this? My guess would be that you are seeing a fine mist blowing into the Jeep and that it's more than likely antifreeze coming from a leaking heater core in the evaporator box for the climate control system. I don't know much about late model Jeeps but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a factory installed air compressor option that would have a compressor in the engine compartment with air hose connections inside the rear liftgate for inflating innertubes etc. If that's the case the dye that you're seeing is more than likely compressor oil leaking into the air lines.
behind the dash on the passenger side. Not worth the hassle -- there are forums that teach you to change your air compressor for the AC into an air compressor - fill tires, rafts, beds etc! google it!
Hi, I have a 93 jeep grand Cherokee with 250,000 miles. I was quoted $650. 00 to have the compressor and dryer replaced. I did the labor(30min) and the shop recharged it for around $370. This also included the compressor, dryer and o ring kit. Thanks, Mo
not charged properly,over-charged, severe restriction in system (should have showed up on gages if properly charged), bad recycle switch, good luck, Mike
Damage of the blades of the compressor ,cauesd due high angles of pressure ,caused by air flow is called stalling of a compressor
what is the responsibility of the compressor in the air condition system
Low freon you need to recharge
That is a diode. It reduces voltage surges when the compressor kicks off and on.
The 1988 Jeep Cherokee air conditioning low pressure port is located on the air conditioning compressor. The low pressure port will be on the right hand side of the compressor.
the compressor has a plug on top by the belt it has a red clip push the clip to one side the pushdown on the clip behind it(wiring harness side) with a little pulling it will come apart
Because one of these factors is taking place -Coolent leak -expansion vaulve needs to be replaced -Compressor problem, low pressure -Thermistat inacurate
The high pressure hose is between the compressor and orfice tube
Typically there is a plug into the compressor with two wires. They activate the compressor. Just unplug it.
I need to pull the fuse on the air compressor on the air shocks, 1 is leaking and motor kicks on a lot.
95 lin town car when turning on air conditioner and the clutch kicks on in the air compressor it jerks and the jerks at the same time car experiencing loss of electricity from engine when it jerks

The A/C compressor is driven by a belt. Follow the routing of the belt and you will find the compressor.
