The gears in the steering gear box have worn down over time. However, a certain amount of this play can be adjusted out scince the gears are tapered. All you need is a wrench, Allen or set screw wrenches and patience. Be careful though not to over adjust. When you turn on to another road your steering wheel should be adjusted that just enough play exist so that it auto corrects.
Yes
paste this into your browser...i could not get the link box to take.. but this should ansewr the question on the o2 sensor
the Laredo is a Cherokee. it's just a different trim package. there's also the briarwood, sport, wagon, etc. it's all the same. yes, the radiators are the same. so is EVERYTHING ELSE in or on the vehicle. so, you could buy the electric seats from a Laredo and put them in a sport. or you could by the rear hatch with the wiper and put it on a briarwood. as long as you have the wiring and switches you can change the trim on any Cherokee. as far as the drivetrains they are exactly the same... As long as you are not trying to put a Grand Cherokee radiator in a regular Cherokee.
could be the crank shaft positioning sensor 80 bucksits located on the upper part of the bell of the transmission, drivers side, two screws. been there, done that, good luck, not easy to get to.
Check Engine ... self explanatory ... check the engine. Check fluids, air filter, water in the coolant system, oxygen sensor, bad spark plugs, electrical problems, loose nut behind the steering wheel - could be any number of things ... check everything in the engine area.
Having the speedometer jump and the engine stall in the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo could be a problem with the idle and the transmission. The transmission slipping can cause the speedometer to jump.
I would suspect worn steering components, or front wheel drive components. Have this inspected as it could be a dangerous situation.
Probably a wheel balance problem or possibly a bent rim.
YesYes
Several things could be causing the 1994 Cherokee to have this problem. There could be a drop in fuel pressure. There could also be a problem with the ignition circuit like a coil pack breaking down as it gets hot. Check these areas to start with.
dead battery
Heater core
Drive-shaft out of balance? Bad Universal joint? Tire / wheel out of balance
bad earth . have you had or done any work under the bonnet then that could be you problem check your earths.
If 4x4, replace steering dampner that is a bandaid, is not addressing the real problem. could be worn or bent steering parts, bad ujoints, out of alignment or bent or unbalenced wheel.
sounds like you have water in your oil. it could mean you a cracked block or cylinder head
the switch board could be bad.
