The exact contents of radioactive waste from a nuclear power plant and radioactive fallout from a nuclear weapon can vary widely but are likely to be similar in their primary isotopes.

The major difference between the radioactive waste from a nuclear power plant and radioactive fallout from a nuclear weapon is that the waste is normally contained and will not enter the environment (unless an accident happens) while the fallout is dispersed into the environment and is carried by the wind (sometimes all the way around the world multiple times).

Nuclear waste is any unwanted material that is radioactive. That includes everything from used fuel rods in a reactor, to protective clothing that has contamination of a radioactive nature. Nuclear weapons are typically a fusion or fission device used to attack someone/ something/ some place.

Is the use of high level radioactive waste from nuclear power station for the production of the raw materials for nuclear weapons a justifiable proposition?

High level radioactive waste would have no potential for producing a nuclear explosion, so your question is puzzling. Perhaps you mean production of a dirty bomb, which terrorists might use to contaminate an area by spreading radioactive material around using a conventional explosive. That is obviously not justified unless you are a terrorist.Plutonium can be extracted from spent uranium fuel and used in nuclear weapons, but I would not describe it as high level radioactive waste, plutonium is only mildly radioactive. In fact I think at present in the US and in Russia, the stockpile of nuclear weapons is being reduced and some of the fissile material is going into civil nuclear reactor fuel.

Which countries have nuclear waste problems?

All countries that have nuclear reactors have nuclear waste and it is always a problem, though a manageable one.

What is the name of the Defunct nuclear waste storage site in Nevada?

It is the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository.

How is nuclear waste created?

High level nuclear waste is created in two main ways: - Nuclear energy reactors during normal operations generate radioactivity which affects metals and water in the plant; also used-up fuel is left over after being used for reaction. - Nuclear weapons programs use nuclear reactors to create plutonium with a lot of radioactive byproducts. The leftover materials and just about everything that comes near the weapons material becomes nuclear waste. Low level nuclear waste is created in many ways, some of them not so obvious. - Hospitals use radiation in cancer treatment, nuclear imaging, etc. - Homes use radioactive materials in smoke detectors. - Naturally occurring radiation can effectively be concentrated in air and water filters, such as radon filters for well water. - Naturally occurring radiation can be concentrated in coal ash by coal-fired power plants, often along with dangerous pollutants like mercury. There are many other sources of low level nuclear waste and many tons of it must be safely disposed.

What is concentrate and contain method?

its a method use in nuclear waste management where the waste is concentrated and then isolated. this method also use for non nuclear waste management.

Most of it does, but some comes from weapons manufacture as well

What is the difference between hazardous wastes and nuclear energy?

they are different because hazardous waste are dangerous chemicals, but nuclear energy is realeased when billons of atomic nuclei from aranium are split apart in a nuclear fission reaction

Who would win in a war between England and America vs china and russia?

No one. The US, Russia, and China each have sufficient nuclear weapons to lay waste to the entire globe.

What is the difference between fission and Plutonium waste?

Nuclear fission is a type of nuclear reaction: the nucleus of an atom is broken in two parts (and many other fragments).Plutonium wastes are wastes containing plutonium.

How do nuclear weapons differ from other weapons?

Lots more power per pound, and radioactive waste products. Most conventional weapons use chemical reactions to release energy and cause explosions. Such weapons would include those that use gun power, TNT, plastic explosives, etc. With a nuclear weapon, large amounts of energy are released through a nuclear fission (atomic bomb) or the fusion reaction between isotopes of hydrogen (thermonuclear bomb).

the difference between pollution and waste is waste that is of no use to any one and pollution is that is because of we durting that particular spot where the pollution is done
