Unplug the connector to the fan, next run a pos. and neg. to the connector from the battery to see if fan starts. If not, replace fan. If it does run then check the coolant temp. switches. There should be two on this vehicle. When the engine is warm they will have very little resistance to ground (ohms). If the engine is warm and they give no or open reading on DVOM they will need replacing.
probably your cooling fan relay module found underneath your right front headlight. to gain acess to it, you will have to remove the front bumper, or drill a whole in the plastic under the headlight in question.
I had the same problem in my 99.turned out to be the crankshaft sensor. Hope this helps
No, the XJ Cherokee does not have the same heater box as a WJ Grand Cherokee.
Things can cause this problem. The wiper motor itself or the wiper control module may be bad. Also the switch or bad wiring. It is a process of elimination.
That tells you how many miles ,or in this case kilometers, untill your next service interval. It is not the sign of a problem, just to tell you its time to have everything checked out then the garage or dealer resets it.
I had this problem on my 2001 GC....had it fixed several months ago....there was a recall on certain yrs of the WJ style grand cherokee, due to bad fan bearings. Your cooling fan will sound like it kicks on when it should, because the motor does activate however the fan is not turning due to the shot bearings. Contact your local dealer, should be a free fan replacement if that is the problem.
There are several things that can cause heater problems in your 1998 Jeep Grain Cherokee. The most common cause of heater problems is low fluid in your cooling system.
bad switch, bad motor, bad ground?
The major problem is lack of range. Fully electric cars have a limited range and then it takes hours to recharge them.
I had the same problem with my 1997 Grand Cherokee and it was the dash mounted automatic light switch. The problem was also solved by turning the headlamps on manually.
I understand the relay is in back of the passenger side headlight. You have to remove the assembly and drill 5/8 holes to remove the bolts, or remove the bumper to get to it. Just found this answer on line. I too have the same problem.
Make sure that the fuse and sensor for the cooling fan are working. If these are ok then look at the fan motor, it could be bad.
If the clock keeps resetting in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the problem is probably with the battery. It is quite possible that the battery is going dead after the vehicle is parked, leaving just enough life in it to restart the car. It can also be an alternator problem causing the battery to be drained.
You may have to replace the cooling fan relay or the cooling fan itself, I had the same problem and I first replaced the relay and it helped but then the cooling fan went out and I repalced it and now everything is fine.
Remove oil pressure sensor and install a manual gauge
I had the same problem in my 99.turned out to be the crankshaft sensor. Hope this helps
i had the same problem when replacing my radiator local junkyard or you can try your local part store other wise the dealership can get anything
could be a brake light out. Put a stick on the peddle or have someone look when you step on the brake pedal.
