The odometer on my 2000 Lincoln navigator will not always illuminate. Sometimes it will not come on until I drive a few miles. the radio and clock illumination will go out also?

The 2000 Lincoln Navigator most likely suffers from the same intermittent odometer problem that has plagued many Ford vehicles (1999 - 2003 F150, F250, F350, Expedition, and Explorer). Lincoln Navigators have also been suspected of having the same problem. It would be helpful if a Navigator owner could confirm that the same problem does exist in the Navigator. iSee the following site for a discussion of the intermittent odometer problem.

There isn't a separate computer for just the odometer. Attached to the firewall behind the coolant bottle is the main computer. There are 3 cables that plug into the front of the computer and the odometer is in there. When you buy a new or refurbished computer for your jeep you need the vin number and the odometer reading so the computer can be programmed for your jeep. Meaning the odometer reading is in the main computer
