When she was five to her eldest "brother"/real life husband "chase light worthington", Jordan P J.'s character. They still have have a place in Canada together. New York Times 2012 Avril Lavigne documentary interview@
At the age of two, Avril began singing church songs with her mother. Her mom recognized her two-year-old daughter's talents after hearing her sing "Jesus Loves Me" in church. Lavigne has an older brother, Matthew, and a younger sister, Michelle, both of whom teased her when she sang. Avril has said that "My brother used to knock on the wall because I used to sing myself to sleep and he thought it was really annoying." When Lavigne was five years old, the family moved from Belleville to Napanee, Ontario. Although she struggled to pay attention in school, sometimes being kicked out of class for misbehaving, her parents supported her singing. Her father bought her a microphone, a drum kit, a keyboard, and several guitars, and converted their basement into a studio. When Lavigne was 14, her parents would take her to karaoke sessions. Lavigne also performed at country fairs, singing songs by Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, and Shania Twain. She also began writing her own songs. Her first song was called "Can't Stop Thinking About You", about a teenage crush, which she later described as "cheesy cute".
Celine Dion (Pop, adult contemporary best selling female artist of all time with a residency in Vegas), Shania Twain (Country and Pop singer - one of the 1998 Vh1 Divas with Dion), Avril Lavigne (Pop rock, pop punk singer), Justin Bieber (Pop, R&B teen sensation), Sarah McLachlan (Pop, adult contemporary singer), Drake (Hip hop and R&B recording artist) Lots more Canadian artists than them, but I'd say Celine Dion is the most famous Canadian singer/artist.
