Most likely not considered the predecessor, but the Cornet was widely used before the Trumpet. Also before the modern valve mechanism was invented. The Bugle was commonly used in orchestral music. In order to play any sort of melody on a Bugle, the player would have to play extremely high were the pitches are spaced closer together

tell the truth you should say what ancestors are from the trumpet.

in Latin time the tuba was in the trumpet family and now the tuba in the lower brass which all the lower instruments consist of so every thing in the brass family comes from the trumpet that why trumpet's get to be in the high brass family so it so awsome nothing can stand in it path of glory!!!!!

The Saxophone is a very peculiar instrument in terms of history. The first saxophones were patented in 1846 by a Belgian named Adolphe sax and before this there was nothing like a saxophone.
