'goth' is originally what the Germans were called when they sacked Rome...music:The years in which the goth movement originated (79-83) were extremely interesting and diverse musically. As well as the punk splinter groups (the Oi! and Anarcho movements), there was the Ska revival, the Mod revival, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the fledgling Industrial sound, the so-called "Futurist" movement, New Romantic, Psychobilly and a bewildering array of "post-punk" bands. Out of this peculiar mixture, the early goth bands gradually emerged. Of course, at first they weren't termed "goth" bands, though some of them were referred to as "gothic" in musical style as early as 1979.
He is not. He is punk/pop/rock. Though he does wear eyeliner (Some times) So do a lot of rock bands.
Marilyn Manson isn't really a goth. You could consider his makeup and dress style goth but then you would have to call Alice Cooper and KISS goth. But if you want ti be the same type of goth this is what you do, 1 dress in a way that you find shocking yet cool to your own style 2 Be yourself. Manson is 41 years old he has been a "goth" since before there were really "goths" as we know them.
Everyone has diffrent opinions. But yes some do

Goth metal with some punk influences.
Operation Ivy, Streetlight Manifesto, and Mustard Plug.
Punk, Alternative. Some might go with Emo, or Goth, though I don't believe that is correct.
Eh, there are some folk bands with goth influences, but no goth bands that heavily incorporate Celtic styles. If you're looking for an Irish goth band, try The Virgin Prunes. There are however some medieval bands, folk bands, and coldwave bands that incorporate a slight goth influence, but I can't name any that have Celtic style off the top of my head. Try looking up Opera Multi Steele, traditional French styles fused with Synthesizers and ambient.
The "school appropriate punk rock girl band is "Care Bears on Fire" and they are really awesome!
Emo and punk are two different things. There are no good emo bands. that's a lie extreme clown posse is pretty good **Insane Clown Posse** ------ Why don't you try out The Used, Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, or Metallica? Metallica is considered metal.
Daft Punk is considered by many to be a good act.BENNY BENASSI - he is probably the best in my opinionHorse The Band are kinda techno.
New Found Glory are very oldschool pop punk. Man Overboard is new, but also very good. Good Charlotte is amazing, and I'm not sure if Blink-182 is pop punk but they're really awesome too.
Try something by Green Day (old, not new) or The Offspring. Many hardcore punk bands are very hard to imitate, so these are good starts.
