A cheap way to cusomise your guitar is to swap the scratchplate, these are inexpensive to buy in most stores. Next you can repaint the guitar if you really want but i tried to do it myself a few years ago and the results werent great. You can buy coloured strings form DR that make you look a little different. To replace the fretmarkers you could cover them with stickers or if you have a bolt on neck buy a new one with new fretmarkers on it and bolt it on yourself. You can buy new volume pots and screw them on yourself. If your feeling adventerous you can buy new pickups and wire them in yourself, change the tuners, get the fingerboard scalloped, put in a new bridge, theres tonnes of possability.
