DiMarzio are very popular for metal. A DP 180 for middle or neck, with a DP184 Chopper at the bridge gives a very nice metal tone. Another excellent choice is a DiMarzio Full Metal for ripping shreds on the bridge. These combos provide superb low end on the bridge, and clean even tones on the middle and neck. To really take advantage, you might want to put a 500K on the bridge control for high tones.
If you don't care too much about playing clean, and are only interested in distortion, I've heard Iron Maiden uses Seymour Duncan HotRails SHR-1 pups for their particular sound. most people seem to feel clean tones suffer on these pups, though. Hope that gives you some direction.

Most metal musicians like, say Metallica use an active pickup. eg.( the EMG 81/85 )
This is one of those "matter of opinion" type questions, but personally, I prefer EMG pickups to Seymour Duncan.
An EMG 81-60 setup is great for a rhythm guitarist
My answer is no they already have pickguard
its all a matter of taste these are some of the best to me and what I'd play Seymour Duncan Invaders (really high output for metal) Seymour Duncan Blackouts EMG 81 (best EMG bridge pickup) EMG 89 (its like 2 pickups instead of one) Dimarzio X2N (amazing for metal) Dimarzio D-Activator (great neck pickup) or go with what your guitar gods use Steve Vai has Breed and Evolution pickups Kerry King, Zakk Wylde and so on have signature EMG's best thing to do other than trying them is to youtube them
EMG pickups are good if you want a heavy and fat, distorted sound.

There are many great hardcore/metal pickups out there, but the most popular are EMG pickups and Seymour Duncans (like Blackouts, specifically). It really all depends on taste, but I'm pretty sure TDWP uses Duncans in their guitars.
Yes. Well, you can have EMG's installed in a PRS. I'm not sure if you can buy a new PRS with the Stock pickups being EMGs.
The best pickups for electric guitars are often considered to be those made by companies like Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, and EMG. These pickups are known for their high-quality construction, clear sound, and versatility in different musical styles. Ultimately, the best pickups for you will depend on your personal preferences and the sound you are looking to achieve.
