AnswerAccording to me, there are two major kinds of Indian Classical Music -- Hindustani Classical Music (also know as North Indian Music) and Carnatic Music (also know as South Indian Music)Native American Indians = make their own music(most of them), depending on the tribe they use drums, Flute, etc
East Indians(Asian subcontinent) = listen to all kinds of music, most of the music is Sound Tracks from movies, and lately it is albums from local bands(of different languages). There is many languages in India, so different language albums.
Hope this helps.
Indian music for the most part ... they can even listen to English ... also depends on what kind of an Indian u r speakin of -- of course they listen to Hindi, but depending on the place they are from, they may listen to malyali, telagu, gujrati, Punjabi and so on .. but majority of Indians listen 2 Hindi music regardless of the language
The two main musical instruments associated with India would be the sitar and tablas. Together these instruments resonate the serenity of Indian music. A sitar is a string instrument containing about 18-20 strings (11-13 sympathetic strings, 6-7 playing strings). It is the melodic emblem of Indian classical music. It is still pervasive in Indian music. The tablas are the percussions of Indian classical music. There are two hand played drums. The bigger of the two emits a low bass type sound and the smaller a higher snare type sound. If the sitar is the melodic emblem, the tablas are the rhythmic ones. These instruments are among the oldest in the world. The advent of synthetic music has taken over most of the new age Indian songs, but every now and then Indian music producers like to remind themselves and the Indians of their culture by including classical music that undoubtedly still in everyone's hearts.
Classical-Romantic This included the transitional phase between these two eras. Classical music is simply elegant and romantic music is dramatic and deep. Beethoven was one of the main composers in this transition.
If the only two choices are pop or classical, I would have to pick pop. But I think jazz is pretty much it's own style.
In music, "classical" has two meanings. The generalized term, "Classical Music" denotes art music composed for performance, as opposed to popular songs, rock, or theater music. The more specialized meaning, within the larger category of classical music, denotes symphonies or other types of music composed in the mid- to late-18th century through the early 19th, by Haydn, Mozart, early Beethoven and their contemporaries, known as the "classical period". Alternately, "classic" can just mean a favorite or standard for many years, like classic rock, classic bluegrass, etc.

The word 'classical', when applied to music, has two different meanings, a narrow one and a much broader one. In the narrow sense of the word the classical period in music extended roughly from the middle of the eighteenth century to the early nineteenth century. Classical music in the broader sense of the expression includes the 'serious music' or 'art music' of the last four centuries (or perhaps longer), continuing today.

Because the two are stylistically different.
