Why is the song Bohemian Rhapsody so popular?

"What is Bohemian Rhapsody about, well I don't think we'll ever know and if I knew I probably wouldn't want to tell you anyway, because I certainly don't tell people what my songs are about. I find that it destroys them in a way because the great thing about about a great song is that you relate it to your own personal experiences in your own life. I think that Freddie was certainly battling with problems in his personal life, which he might have decided to put into the song himself. He was certainly looking at re-creating himself. But I don't think at that point in time it was the best thing to do so he actually decided to do it later. I think it's best to leave it with a question mark in the air." Brian May That was so wrong to find every song referring to Bohemian Rhapsody and merge all the questions together. You wiped out every answer, correction, category change not to mention the questions. I found the original answer and my answer to this question. I also split a lot of the questions away from this one. Your answer came from the same source I got my answer from. I could say yours is more simplistic and delete it, but that would be rude. Out of 51 questions you turned it into one, with a one paragraph answer. My answer was: Sorry, but that is definitely not the answer. Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975, long before Mercury knew he had AIDS. Freddie was flamboyant, an extrovert, and dramatic to say the least. But to say that he wrote this song because of the illness he died of 16 years later makes him a psychic as well as all of his other attributes. Queen states that Bohemian Rhapsody is about a young man who has accidental killed someone and, like Faust sold his soul to the devil. On the night before his execution, he calls for God in Arabic ("Bismillah" "Basmalah"), and with the help of angels, regains his soul from Shaitan. On the other hand, Kenny Everett (A radio and television personality), quoted Mercury as claiming the lyrics were "simple rhyming nonsense". Looks like Freddie took it to the grave!

Who was the best band of the 70s?

In my honest opinion, I believe that the best band suring the 70's was Queen. Members include Freddie Mercury (vocals, keyboard), John Deacon (bass), Roger Taylor (drums) and Brian May (guitar). Some of their best songs include: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another one Bites the Dust, Princes of the Universe, Somebody to love, We are the champions, and my absolute favorite: HAMMER TO FALL!!! Sure there are other good bands, but I think Queen was the best.

What is bohemian ancestry?

Bohemia used to be country which is now part of the Czech republic. People who immigrated to the United States and other countries when Bohemia was still a country called themselves Bohemians. I have Bohemian ancestry because my great-granparents immigrated from Bohemia. It is rather confusing today however, because the term "bohemian" is used as a catch-all for groups that live a laid-back artsy lifestyle. When you look up Bohemian on the internet you get little about the former country and its people and more about the lifestyle. It is sad to see that people forget about the actual origin of what it means to be Bohemian. Most people who call themselves bohemian have no Bohemian blood or ancestry, they just live a lifestyle deemed bohemian. If you have Bohemian ancestry it is more useful to search Czech culture or ancestry if you want to learn more about your heritage.
