It matters which brass instrument. Someone with a Trombone is a trombonist, someone with a tuba is a tubist, and someone who plays a Trumpet is a trumpeter. It's all very complicated.

I'm one who is asking this question. I play several kinds of brass instruments, so I'm wondering if "labrophonist" would be an appropriate term. Of course "brass player" would probably suffice.

The tuba is the biggest brass instrument used in a symphony orchestra.
