I play the Horn, which uses completely different valves. However, I did play learn Trumpet and I played it for a while a few years ago, so I think I can help you with this.
I don't think putting too much oil in your trumpet is going to completely destroy it. I don't recommend knowingly overdoing it, but just put in what you need to fix the problem. If you put in too much, it'll just drip out the bottom of the pistons anyway. As far as I'm aware, any other issues with valves aren't affected by the overuse of oil.
Hope this helps! =)
It's not recommended. Mineral oil is a bit too thick to be used on trumpet valves.
Trumpetoil, it is a rare type of oil discovered by a man called Harvey Trumpetoil
light mineral oils or synthetic oils will work in a trumpet valve block. The oil must not be too thick as that would impair the action. There are a huge number of different oils available specifically designed for trumpet such as and in no particular order or preference:HetmanUltra PureBachWindcraftAl CassHortonBlue juiceHercoAnd many many others.According to sources on the Internet, you can also use lamp oil. I haven't tried this so I can't recommend it. but what you don't want to do is used things like wd40 or three in one oil. These vechile oils have penetrating fluid properties and can cause damage to corks and felts and are generally much more poisonous than branded trumpet oils.

not much. it would change the viscosity of the oil. the diesel oil is much thicker than regular engine oil.
Go and get it professionally cleaned, and tuned, and if that doesn't work you might need a new trumpet
it is an oil painting
The knobs on the tuba and Trumpet are called valves. The knobs on a french horn are often called valves or rotors. You use valve oil on the tuba and trumpet, while you use rotor oil for the french horn.

A piccolo trumpet is a trumpet with half the normal length of tubing. This allows it to produce pitches much higher than a normal trumpet.
