No preference really...depends on whether you have a strong voice. if you do, you're more likely to like the tuba because you have the strength and the air in your diaphragm to do so. If you're a more of a quiet type, you would like the Flute.

It's really a matter of opinion isn't it? If you were to compare the band world to the high school world, the flute would be the cheerleader, Trumpet would be the Football star jock, Tuba would be the kid who stays at home and plays World of Warcraft all day, and the bassoon would be the goth or emo kid who cuts him/herself.

Tuba. Amplitude is volume, and flutes aren't very loud even at their loudest.
