Calitas is reported to be spanish slang for the butt of a smoke. Pronounce "calillas". Which would make sense, on a warm desert highway. Means hes driving. Cool wind in my hair. Possible a convertable. The smell of calitas, rising up in the air. This would either mean the smell of cigarette butts or marijuana joints. Possibly coming from his ashtray.

How high can an eagle fly?

Bald Eagles are commonly reported by hang glider pilots in the Owens valley along the California/Nevada border to fly far above 15,000 feet. They will circle with hang gliders, sometimes flying only 10' off their wingtip. They will share the same rising thermal, climbing for many thousands of feet before the hang glider pilot or the Eagle leaves the thermal and flies on.
