∙ 12y agoit all depends on the car, but for the most part power is either yellow or red. grey, white, purple, green are all different colors of the speaker wires. for instance grey with a white stripe, and white with a grey stripe could be the back left speaker (just an example). theres a large plug on the right side, which is the antenna. theres other various wires but for installing an amp into a factory system get an output converter.. or replacing the head unit.. a wire harness. sorry if this isn't much help..
I have changed several car stereos, buy an adapter for around 10-20 dollars. You will be glad you did. If you need line level inputs for an aftermarket amp with factory outputs get those too.

How do you remove a 1996 Chrysler LHS radio?
Take off the fake wood trim it just prys off start at the top there are three clips. There will be 2 screw/bolts holding the CD player in place. Once those screws are out it will be free, but don't rip it out as the wiring harness is probably caught as mine was. You may need to remove the climate control unit. There are three screws to do so. The radio wires are long enough to allow the radio to come out, but as the factory installs it they are looped around the plastic housing (they are caught inside) and you don't want to pull a wire out of the harness. Removing the climate control unit allows you to stick your hand in the back and get the radio to fully come out so you can disconect the harness, antenna and ground strap.
What would cause the radio on a 1997 Chrysler LHS to stop working and the clock too?
First check all fuses, there should be two: one inside the car under the dash, most commonly in drivers area; and the other is under the hood.If your fuses are good, and you can pull the stereo, take a multi-meter and measure for 12v at the wiring harness.Chrysler radios are notorious for having bad power switches too. I have had this exact problem. In my case, it was the antenna connector on the radio itself. It needs to be resoldered on the radio and then it will work just fine. - RL
