stock wire harness speaker wires are always Gray, White< purple< green
Most likely the speakers are rated for different 'ohms' (or resistance value) in the car stereo wiring. For example, the stock speakers could be rated for 12 ohm wiring, but your aftermarket ones could be rated for 10 ohm wires. The aftermarket speaker would not work, because there is too much resistance in the existing wires. So, either find replace your stock speakers with an OEM (original equipment - manufacturer) part, find an aftermarket speaker that will work with your current wiring, or rerun your speaker wiring (not terrribly difficult, but should still be done by a professional.) Hope this helps.
The speaker wires for the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee are dark green and brown for the left front speaker and gray and brown for the right front speaker. The rear speaker wires are dark green and dark blue or violet on the left and gray and tan or gray and dark blue on the right.
recheck your wiring from the headunit to the speakers and make sure that you bipassed the factory amp(if your jeep came with one). If you did then make sure the wires have no frays and also check the connections to the speakers because if they are rusty there will not be a connection to the speaker and there won't be any sound. Also double check the connections from the headunit leading to the speaker wiring and make sure that your wiring is setup correctly. That is make sure that you have each wire connected to the right spot because if you connect the negative end of your left rear speaker to the wire for the front left speaker etc...then there will not be any sound. Double check all your wiring and test everything. If you need help definatly check your local Jeep dealership for a wiring schematic or go to a local audio shop ALSO, Some of the Cherokee's with the infinity stereo have an amp under the rear seat behind the driver, and the system is a 4 ohm system. After market stereos use 8 ohms. You will need new speakers and wires to go with the new deck.
your wires maybe touching or the speakers are blown

Assuming there is 8 wires in existing Renault wiring iso speaker plug at back of radio, the two outer wires at each end of plug are for left rear and right rear speakers, tap into these wires i.e. strip the insulation back a couple of inches from the plug and join new speaker wires onto the stripped wires. If only 4 wires in existing Renault wiring iso speaker plug then buy iso speaker plug from auto factor and join existing Renault wiring on speaker plug onto new cable and join new speaker cables (the ones you are fitting) onto the outside wires at each end of the new iso plug.
The red wire is the positive wire. The yellow and green wires are the speaker wires. The brown or black wire is the ground wire. The white wire is and auxiliary wire.
