Old Kraftsman Guitars were made by the KAY corporation of Chicago Illinois, using long production lead times and solid manufacturing allowed them to manufacture house brand product lines for ..WARDS.(Airline).SEARS.(Silvertone)...SPIEGAL.( Old Kraftsman) and other store chains..... when production was limited due to stock issues the KAY corporation made use of using Harmony non branded product runs, and production runs of other name branded vendors. Harmony being the largest second source .
While there are some collectable units of each brand..(the simularities of their respective product offerings is truly iconic). The pick guard in fact on a KAY Value Leader ( which I own a version of[k1962] ) shows remarkable simularities to many of the models by this corporation.. the 45 degree cut (obviously machine made and of the same dimensions across product lines shows American manufacturing of the day.
Does it rival a martin or Gibson or high end fender...No

most guitars, if not all, do come stringed. this is because there is a big difference between the tension in the neck and body when ther isn't strings and when there is. if you have a guitar with strings, and take all the strings off, it can mess up the truss rod in the neck.

I'm assuming that you want to know if all guitars come with pickguards. Well some come with them ready fitted Some come with it separate so you can choose whether or not you want to put it on or not. Other guitars don't come with any pickguards at all. But you can always have an aftermarket pickguard screwed into your guitar, although this will affect the re-sale value.
