If what you mean is the engine control module (brain) its on the passenger side underneath the sidewall spash guard panel. You'll have to remove the whole dash panel to get to it. I try removing just the glove box and that didn't allow me access to this item. Lot of screws to remove, air duct vents are just pressed into place, but their retaining brackets are attached with screws, remove buttons and knobs for radio, two screws are behind the cigi lighter, this whole tray has to be removed. Took 1 1/2 hours to remove 20 mintues to reinstall dash.
Do you mean ecm or pcm? If so it stands for engine control module or power control module.
The engine control module is required for the engine to operate and can not be bypassed.
