To find the serial number on Pearl Export drums, check the interior of the drum shell, usually near the bearing edge or inside the drum's end. For hardware, such as the bass drum pedal or drum throne, the serial number can often be found on the bottom or underside. Additionally, some models may have the serial number located on the badge attached to the drum shell. If you're unsure, consulting the Pearl website or user manual for your specific model can provide more guidance.
they're quite good actually.nowadays there are different degrees of quality amongst that particular model. avoid any drums made of "hardwood". quality drums are made from Birch or Maple. older 80's exports are good sets.all you need is some good heads. Maple and birch ARE hardwood! It really depends what sound you want. I use a Pearl forum kit with poplar for both live and recording and love it.My brother uses a dW maple kit and loves it.The secrete is in the proper tuning and finding the best heads to get the sound you want. Also how the shell is made makes a big difference. But the wood type is all in the ear of the beholder. BTW Export drums are very good quality and durable.
no it can never ever get upgraded
18 pieces? Even with two snares (one off one on) and double bass drums, you would still need 14 toms to make an 18 piece drum kit. Remember, pieces does not refer to the cymbals, percussion pieces, and hardware. Only the drums. I don't think you can even buy 14 Pearl Export toms of different sizes.
The answer is a matter of opinion. I say go to Google and type in tama or pearl. This will bring you to websites that have the personal reviews of musicians and drum experts. I prefer Pearl, but that is just me.

Japan.
The Pearl Musical Instruments Company produces various types of drums. The Pearl Music Instruments Company also produces electronic drums, which are also not as loud.
Yes. They aren't fancy, but they get the job done very well for the money. I've known a number of professional drummers that use them as "beater" kits or even as their only kit. Entry-level drums have come a really long way in the past 20-30 years and the Export is one of the best products in its class. Tough bargain to beat.
