I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus was banned by the Catholic Church in 1952 on the grounds that it mixed sex with Christmas. The writer of the song, Jimmy Boyd, went to Boston and explained things to the Cardinal, and the ban was lifted.
"I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus" was first recorded by a 13 year old Jimmy Boyd, but was written by Tommy Connor, a Catholic songwriter from South London. The "ban" was a personal opinion expressed by the Archbishop of Boston who objected to the idea of mixing kissing and Christmas. He had never actually listened to the song. After a telephone call from Tommy Connor, the Archbishop changed his mind and there was then a publicity photo-shoot with Jimmy Boyd (by then 14) and the Archbishop. It wasn't until the newspaper headlines about "Ban Lifted" that anyone was aware that one might have existed. I knew Tommy Connor quite well when I was in my teens (his son, Tommy junior was a member of the same youth club) and he thought that the whole business was hilarious - and laughed all the way to the bank.

Roman Catholic AnswerI'm not real sure what you mean by this question. Banned from what? The only individual I know that has been banned by the Catholic Church is Satan and the other devils. When a Church is consecrated there is an elaborate ceremony in which the building is exorcised and blessed.

I don't think any particular video games are "banned" by the Roman Catholic Church however, the Church being a Christian organization would rather one avoided any games which included violence or anything which degraded oneself or anyone else.
