David Bowie, definitely! He made a much bigger impact in music. Not discounting Tom Petty's contributions, but Bowie is more widely known and much more influential.

It would probably be Clapton, since he's performed in more areas of the world and sold more records; but Petty did very well for himself also.

There are no concerts coming up so far for David Bowie. Keep a keen eye out for him though because he'll pop up again. David Bowie was quoted in saying that he'll sing and perform for as long as he can.

In general, Elton John is more popular than David Bowie. While they were both two of the biggest musical acts in the world during the 1970s, Elton's music reaches a broader audience than Bowie's. Both great musicians, though.
