The Ronettes were strictly a three-part harmony- VOCAL group. they had to have a backup band or operate to recorded background music ( as was often done on television programs such as Bandstand) they surmounted this limitation with some unique and coherent stage-business such as the ( Transfiguration) stunt done with Be My Baby in Shindig.Ronnie appears alone on stage, at the cue of (We"ll make them turn their heads, everyplace we go- sheets over what appear to be amplifiers are withdrawn and out pop identically dressed Nedra and Estelle! However- drummers, Guitarists, had to be imported. it"s a bit like You Know Who and Her backup band, which were ( and it rhymed with her name- The Big Four. Last seen at C-yards.
