Helter Skelter was a song written by Paul McCartney and performed by The Beatles. Unknown to any of them, this song would be one of several which serial killer Charles Manson would mis-interpret to be coded references to a future war. His delusions led him and his followers to kill several people including Sharon Tate. There is no reference to Sharon Tate in the song and she can not be said to be "played" by anyone.

Answer

Helter Skelter was the title of a 1976 TV film based on the book by prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi and Curt Gentry. The film is a docudrama about the murders committed by Charles Manson & family. "Helter skelter" was scrawled in blood at one of the murder scenes. The actress who played Sharon Tate did not have a very big role in the movie. What significance did the Beatles White Album have on the Charles Manson murders?

The song "Helter Skelter" from the "The Beatles" (the White album) is supposed to have set him off or motivated him to commit the Tate murders. A "Helter Skelter" is a fairground ride, but Manson interpreted it something different. He also seems to have read something into "Piggies" that was not there. George Harrison says that in "Piggies", he was only having a swipe at the greed of the middle and upper classes in England.
