No one, just a non-sequitor shouted out by John Lennon. Charles Hawtrey was a playwright I believe.
Charles Hawtrey was a famous British actor renowned for his roles in the British farcical 'Carry-On' films.
At the beginning of the recording of The Two of Us, Lennon shouts,
"'I Dig a Pygmy', by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids... Phase One, in which Doris gets her oats!"
The shout was mixed in by Phil Spector for the Let It Bealbum and also appeared in the Let It Be film, both released in 1970. "The deaf aids" was the nickname given to The Beatles' Vox amplifiers.[citation needed]
In 1977/8 a Sheffield, UK band formed by Terry Gamwells was named Charles Hawtrey and the Deafaids
The song might be The Beatles "Two Of Us", from the Let It Be album. The song tails off raggedly with the whistling and a few comments (from Paul?).Right before the start, you can hear John Lennon shouting "I dig a pygmy, by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids. Phase One, in which Doris gets her oats"You can hear it on the album itself, of course, or here:http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Two-of-Us-lyrics-The-Beatles/0FFF651FC4EF80D248256BC2001BDA48
