Several prominent patriots were on the committees. One of the first was formed in 1772 by Samuel Adams and Joseph Warren. Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Harrison, and Thomas Johnson were involved as well.

Earlier informal committees had appeared following the Stamp Act in 1764. But the most notable of the committees of correspondence were bodies organized by the local governments of the Thirteen Colonies before and during the American Revolution, for the purposes of sharing information between colonies. These served an important role in the Revolution, disseminating the colonial interpretation of British actions, and the actions taken in response. They formed the nucleus of independent colonial legislatures.

Celtic is a family of languages, not a single language, so there will be variation in sound-spelling correspondence. In Welsh, f sounds like English v (and to write the English f sound requires ff). In Breton and in Scottish and Irish Gaelic, and in Cornish, f represents the same sound it does in English.

Which make the best jazz trumpets?

The martin Committee is the all time most popular Jazz trumpet. It was made from the late 1940's through to 1990's. Committees, are so called because they were allegedly designed by a team of popular musicians and designers of the day. It features a reverse lead pipe and a bell close coupled at the valve block. These features were supposed to mellow the tone of the instrument. The truth of the matter is that the Committee probably owed more to the success of canny marketing techniques and paid for endorsements by players such as Miles Davis. The Committee has been copied by a number of manufacturers, probably the closest was the Lawyer C7.
