If you want sound alike: Rain, Revolver, Liverpool, The Fab Four, All Together Now, and just about every song name as a group. The Rutles was a parody of The Beatles; it started as a sketch on the BBC-TV series Rutland Weekend Television, written by Eric Idle. Later, Idle and Neil Innes joined forces and wrote a series called The Rutles. Skits were shown several times on Saturday Night Live and producer Lorne Michaels suggested that they expand the concept into a feature film. In 1978, they came out with the film, The Rutles: All You Need is Cash, which had the tagline, "The musical legend which will last a lunchtime."The members of the musical group were Ron Nasty (John Lennon), played by Neil Innes; Dirk McQuickly (Paul McCartneypaul McCartney" class='external' title="paulMcCartney), played by Eric Idle; Stig O'Hara (George Harrison), played by Ricky Fataar; and Barry Wom (Ringo Starr), played by John Halsey.
