If you use the radio without the engine running you will eventually discharge the power from the battery. It should be fine for a couple of hours, If not, your battery may need replacing.
The radio will work fine, but there will be nothing to hear.
Check all the fuses first, if they're fine,For the radio(if it's in fact the whole radio and not just the head unit light); check the fuse on the back of the radio if it has one, check for current from Battery+ wire leading to radio, or ground. if those check out fine, the radio itself is most likely dead, if nothing had power it could be a relay on the printed circuit board(don't touch this with your fingers), have a technician diagnose this. For the dome light; check current to the switch, if it checks out fine move to the light itself, if it checks out fine replace the bulb, if there is no power at all it could be a relay, or a B+ wire is shorted out, or the ground isn't good.
I have same problem in 02 Alero.
I'm on a college radio station, and we've been told it's a $7000 fine.
Use DC to AC converter for car power outlet and then plug in your AC charger to the converter. I am use this method since 2 years, working fine but faced some problems like once burning car power outlet and weaken the car battery.
Could be a power or gound issue affecting the wires in the back of the stereo -- be hind the dash
Fine Music Radio was created in 1995.
Wire is fine. The guy who installed the radio connected the power wire to the wrong side of the key switch.
If everything else works, I bet it's the radio itself or its fuse. Start from the fuse. If the fuse is fine, you need to check the radio power connection. You will have to remove the radio and disconnect it. After that find power cable (usually red thick cable coming to the radio harness and show +12 V all the time). You need to check both the power cable the accessory cable (which work when the ignition key in the position ON and gives +12V, you might have to play a little bit to find it). If the wires are fine you have to replace the radio.
That sounds like a bad connection.
You could accidentally short out the power wire to the radio and blow a fuse. But you really do not have to disconnect the battery terminal. Just remove the fuse for the radio circuit and you will be fine.
air is not blowing out of my 2005 cheverolet avalanche ducts but only when I am driving.

I have the exact same problem, did you ever get an answer?

sounds like neutral safety switch issue
