Why is it that girls will try to be near boys they like a lot but boys will try to avoid girls they like?

(Guy's view, 20 years old) I personally don't know why guys avoid girls, other than they are afraid of rejection, as the above answer said. When I like a girl I get closer to her, and hang around her more, not the opposite. Maybe its because they want to feel "unobtainable" or to have her work to get him. I really don't know, its a mystery and I don't understand why guys do it.
- (guy too, 19) You can't say it that generally for either gender. Not all girls try to be near boys they like and not all guys avoid them either. Actually, I always try to be near girls I like (or rather, tried), and I wouldn't see why any boy would do that differently. It's not because of shyness, because if it was I wouldn't try to be near them, since I am shy.
