It's on top of the transmission. You have to take the intake housing off to see it. It has the speedometer cable going into it and it has a bolt holding it in with a pinch clamp.
Its really not that hard take the tire off, take the brake caliper off, take the bolt out off the ball joint (the spindal side) use a pry bar to push down on the control arm remove axle nut. Leave nut flush to end of axle use a hammer to free it from the hub.Once out, use pry bar on the inside off the axle and the trans and jerk it, there is a "C" retainer clip holding it in, also would recomend replacing the axle seal at the same time if its leaking.
