First you have to have three phase power coming in. 3 phase are three hot wires working together on a syne wave. If you have 3 phase coming in, hook the three hot wires into the compresser, if it runs backwards, trade places with two of the wire and let the third one alone and you should be running.

To answer this question the voltage of the compressor is needed.

What size motor do you need to run a 3hp air compressor?

To run a 3 horsepower (hp) air compressor, you typically need a motor rated around 3 hp as well. However, it's advisable to use a motor with a slightly higher rating, such as 4 hp, to ensure it can handle the startup load and provide sufficient power under peak operating conditions. Additionally, consider the voltage and phase requirements of both the compressor and motor for compatibility.

Up to how much HP are single phase motors maufactured?

Horse power is horse power, regardless of what voltages and currents are used. 5 HP single phase is equal to 5 HP 3 phase.

How do you figure out how many kilowatts a 10 hp 3 phase motor will use?

10 hp is its output power. To determine its inputpower, you need to know its efficiency, then use the following equation:efficiency = (output power)/(input power)You will first have to convert 10 hp into watts. There are 746 W in one horsepower.

If 1 hp and 220 v find amp?

The formula you are looking for is I = W/E. I = 746/220 = 3.39 amps <<>> Rule of thumb Current (Amps) of Single phase 240Vac motors = HP x 5 For Single phase 220Vac use Rule of Thumb and add 0.5A Current (Amps) of three phase 400Vac motors = HP x 1.5 Good for single phase from fractional HP values up to 7.5 HP. Good for three phase HP values up to 30 HP

How do you calculate horsepower in air condition compressor?

To calculate the horsepower (HP) of an air conditioning compressor, you can use the formula: HP = (BTU/hr) / (2,545), where BTU/hr is the cooling capacity of the compressor. Alternatively, if you have the compressor's power consumption in watts, you can convert it to horsepower using the formula: HP = (watts) / (746). Make sure to account for efficiency by multiplying by the efficiency factor if necessary.

How do you read the data plate on the compressor to determine the HP?

To determine the horsepower (HP) from the data plate on a compressor, locate the section labeled "HP" or "Horsepower" on the plate. This section will typically list the compressor's power rating directly. If the HP is not specified, you may also find the current draw in amps and voltage, which can be used to calculate HP using the formula: HP = (Volts × Amps × Efficiency) / 746, where 746 is the number of watts in one HP. Always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for the most accurate information.

How many amps does a 3 phases 600 volt 10 hp draw?

Assuming the power factor is 1, a 10 hp motor operating at 600 volts in a three-phase system would draw approximately 13.33 amps.

What size motor do you need to run a compressor 2 stage 80 gallon tank i have a 3 phase on it and want to change motor?

You probably need a 5hp or 7hp motor. Look for HP rating o the 3 phase motor and select the same for single phase. 3 phase has same power but is more efficient at electricity use. Also consider a 3 phase converter. It allows a 3 phase motor to run on single phase service.
