Geography affects society greatly, in particular organic materials such as woods and food differ according to the geography e.g Japan is surrounded by sea= fish and Mountains, small crops and animals, such as beef etc whereas somewhere like Western Australia which utilizes a lot of crops and less seafood and meat.
Also the clothing and customs is affected. In a cold climate people are less likely to dance around half naked but instead sit by a campfire. you are unlikely to see an indigenous Australian in the middle of sturts stony desert wearing a beanie scarf and jacket to match. Housing is largely determined by the geography. Lighter and usually more manouverable houses are set up in hotter, more arid and tropical climates rather than a wooden house with a fire place and central heating which is suited to something like Scotland and Ireland.
How are geography and society related
geography affects cultures by helping different cultures live in different places that fit to their needs. This also affects the cultures by providing them with different things to do and eat. That is how culture is affected my georaphy.
Not really. Human geography is about the society of humans and their actions, whereas physical geography is about the land and water of our planet (everything that humans have not influenced or changed.) The geographic location of a people affects the human society it impacts. The location of the peoples called Eskimos, is a society that chooses to live in severely cold portions of geography. Clearly these peoples are closely related to their geographical location.
