There is a lot of cr_p on the internet about "Bic-type" lighters. Guys, if they were 1,000s of degrees you'd all be dead and you wouldn't need any more lighters! Those cool Eyce silicone pipes would dissolve at 350 degrees F or less; there is a borosilicate crown bowl--"pyrex" which melts at 1,500F. Does that happen at your house??

Someone suggested 288 Centigrade for butane.

I think 250 degrees C, less than 500F is a close as we are going to get to the fact, for a few years. Still some silicone rubber may break down at 200C--So ther is another urban myth started!

CAN YOU APPLY THE BIC FLAME DIRECTLY TO THE SILICONE PIPE, SAFELY?
