Set your voltmeter to a low DC Volt range. Connect the negative lead to the battery's negative post. Then move the meter's positive lead across the top and sides of the battery case. If some voltage is read on the meter, current is leaking out of the battery. The battery should be cleaned and then rechecked, If voltage is again measured, the battery should be REPLACED; the case is porous or cracked!

Dry cell batteries will leak if left in a piece of electronic equipment for a long time. The chemicals in the battery eventually find a way to seep out of the battery case. They usually leave a white, crystallized mess behind.A quick and effective way to clean up the mess is with Windex! Don't use too much! Get an old toothbrush and spray a little Windex on it. Brush it over the leakage and you will see the white crystals disappear. Make sure you use an old cloth, paper towel, or q-tips to dry all the Windex (you don't want it running around the inside of your electronic equipment.) Once everything is dry, you should have nice shiny metal battery terminals (unless the leakage was too bad.) Put in new batteries and you should be all set as long as the leakage didn't get inside the equipment and ruin a PC board or something.
An ohm meter measures resistance in a circuit, not leakage in wire insulation. To measure insulation resistance or leakage in wire insulation, you would typically use a megohmmeter or insulation resistance tester, which applies a higher voltage than an ohm meter to test the integrity of the insulation.

The first actual crater repair test using AM-2 aluminum matting was conducted in 1966 as part of the Rapid Runway Repair program by the United States Air Force.
There are many factors that determine what the leakage current will be. You could find out what the insulation winding resistance of the new motor should be and use the 660 volts and Ohm's law to calculate the current. If you measure this using a DC insulation tester however it probably will not yield an exact measurement since the test is not under normal operating conditions, but is a DC voltage test. To get the best measurement you really need to test the motor under operation and use a leakage clamp on the ground connection to see what the current really is since other factors come into play such as the insulation resistance, imbalance and frequency. An example of a tool would be the Fluke 1630 or Fluke 360.
1. Electrolyte leakage by corrosion of package, not good packing 2. Electricity leakage by electronic conduction through separators, intended for preventing such leakage and permit only battery outside conduction caused by protrusions that wound the separators which are very thin
On installed transformer a test is performed to check weather it has any oil leakage or not, the test is called pressure test, more precisely pressure leakage test.
Yes, we have conducted a test for iron in the water.
Any load connected to the battery like lights, fans etc. Apart from this there is leakage to the atmosphere and the environment. Though small this leakage over a long time will make a battery dead
You can do a cylinder leakage test to check for bent valves. You can do a cylinder leakage test to check for bent valves.
Which test and when?
To test for leakage in the system.
by measuring the insulation resistance then by usig the formula for finding leakage current leakage current =voltage applied /resistance measured by megger.
a test battery is what you need to work out your capasity analysis after.
A pH test can be conducted to determine the acidity or alkalinity of a substance.

No, I have not conducted a protein powder test to determine its quality and effectiveness.
