Motiva Enterprise is a joint venture between two companies. One company is Shell Oil Company which is a wholly owned American subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell. The other company is Saudi Refining which is controlled by Saudi Aramco. Motiva Enterprises is currently located in Houston, Texas.
CITGO, MOTIVA, CHEVRON, SHELL, VALERO, MARATHON, EXXON, MURPHY but I think VALERO bought them out, and CHALMETTE REFINERY. I believe thats it.

Gas will not be cheap again for a long long time. In fact, it might never be cheap again, no one really knows. Dont jump to conclusions there so fast now. You might remember that back in Sep up to Dec of 08 during the race between McCain and Obama, gas prices fell significantly. This was a result of the McCain party threatening to drill in the US and utilize our resources rather than import them (oil) from countries who don't like us very much. This scared the other countries, therfore driving the price down of a barrell of crude down significantly. Remember gas fell down to nearly $1.35 a gallon? Luckily, it hasn't risen back to $126 a barrell. Anyhow, in the forecomming months, Jan-Mar 09' many refineries had started their yearly maintence turn arounds and shut downs, resulting in less gasoline being produced therefore keeping the prices high and actually raising them. Shut downs and turn arounds are a good thing. They ensure our fuel is clean, and they pour money into the local economies. Unfortunately, some of these refineries cant find financing to contiue their projects and have been forced to lay off many contractors. Motiva of Port Author TX has one of the Largest CEP (Crude Expansion Project) of the last 30 years going on right now. Unfortunately they've spent all their cash on all of the new fractionator towers and Exchangers and have yet to find financing to continue the project and have been forced to lay off 4500 contractors in the past few months, discontinue per diem and many other benefits. Bectal Jacobs and Motiva project that the Expansion will pick up the pace by 2010. When the project is complete, this will result in an extra 12 million gallons of gasoline produced each day. The main focus is here, that if we push our congressmen to push for utilizing our own resources, while we continue our reseach for alternative fuels, we can drive the price of foreign crude down, and wait for the new technowlagies the refineries are implementing to make our fuel costs even cheaper. My educated guess will be that by Feb of 2010' we will see a drop in fuel prices.

All gasoline comes from the same terminal(s) that are closest to your area. Marathon, Exxon, BP, Motiva, etc. Whichever has the best price on that day. The quality is all the same depending on a few variables. The tanker driver plays a role in this. If they take pride and are properly trained, the gas or diesel that they put in the ground is exactly the same as it would be if you was allowed to get it directly from the source. If the driver does not drain the compartments as much as possible, condensation and dirt builds up. That is not a big deal since most underground tanks are 10 to 20 thousand gallons. Its like spitting in a pond. Most gasoline quality issues arise from stores not maintaining the filters, pumps, or letting the tanks go bone dry. Gasoline is a very light liquid. Water, dirt, and other impurities settle at the very bottom since they are heavier.Back to the question of supply. Oil prices vary from terminal to terminal on a daily basis. Any station tries to get the best price possible in order to boast lower prices at the pump. Most are going to make "x" amount no matter what. If I could compare it to anything, I would say it is like bottled water. If you want Evian, it will cost more than Aquafina, but they both do the exact same thing. It is a crazy industry. All things considered, all of the different terminals and tanker drivers across the U.S do an amazing job in making sure that your local gas hole does not go dry. If you run into a problem with the performance of your fuel, 99% of that can be attributed to bad filters at the pump.Read more: Who_supplies_the_gasoline_for_sam's_club
