The ohm is the unit of electrical resistance to current flow. More ohms (more resistance), the less current will flow. Less ohms (less resistance), the more current will flow. One ohm is defined as the amount of resistance that will cause one ampere of current to flow if the supply voltage is one volt. Ohm's law states that amps = volts / ohms So, if you had a 12 volt battery, and you connected a load, say a heating element that had a resistance of 3 ohms, how much current would flow in the circuit? amps = 12 volts / 3 ohms amps = 4

What is the SI unit of resistance?

The SI unit of resistance is the ohm, represented by the symbol Ω. It is named after the German physicist Georg Simon Ohm, and is used to measure the opposition to the flow of electric current in a circuit.

How many ohms is 500 mill ohms?

The correct term is 'milliohm', not 'mill ohm'. As a milliohm is one-thousandth of an ohm, 500 milliohms is 0.5 ohm.

What is the relation of current voltage resistance to one another?

Under normal circumstances, the relationship is given by Ohm's lawvoltage = current x resistance. The ratio of voltage to current is called resistance. This is obtained from the definition of the ohm, and not (as so often stated) from Ohm's Law.If the ratio of voltage to current is constant for variations in voltage, then the load obeys Ohm's Law and is called a 'linear' or 'ohmic' load.If the ratio of voltage to current changes for variations in voltage, then the load does NOT obey Ohm's Law, and is called 'non-linear' or 'non-ohmic'. Pure metal conductors ONLY obey Ohm's Law if their temperature is held constant. No semiconductor obeys Ohm's Law.

How do you wire one 4ohm sub?

You can't. Two 4 ohm speakers in parallel equal 2 ohms, and two in series equal 8 ohms. It is possible to wire four 4 ohm speakers so that the load is 4 ohms though. Put two in series (8 ohms). put the other two in series (8 ohms). Then put the two sets in parallel (two 8 ohm sets in parallel equal 4 ohms).
