The electrical foot contact in a light bulb serves as a connection point for the electrical current to flow into the bulb. It ensures that the electrical circuit is completed when the bulb is screwed into a socket, allowing the filament or LED components to illuminate. This contact is essential for the bulb's operation, enabling it to produce light when powered.
The wattage of a standard four-foot fluorescent bulb is typically around 32 watts.
A lumen is the perceived intensity of the light, as seen by the human eye. The lumen value is largely determined by the the nature of the light, i.e. the sum of the different wavelengths of the light being transmitted by the particular bulb type. The standard tungsten wire-filament ('incandescent') bulb radiates a different type of light to a flourescentlight.* a 230 V, 40 watt incandescent bulb produces a light (quality) of about 400-500 lumens,* a standard 230 V flourescent lamp of only 7 watts will produce exactly the same value of lumens, i.e. 400-500 lumens. * the cool white XLamp XP-G 3.5 V LED lamp of only 3 watts will produce a similar value of lumens, i.e. 350 lumens. And is safer for the workers that make them and better for the environment. It is currently more expensive, but prices have been dropping about 20% per year. Therefore LED light bulbs convert electricity into light more efficiently than incandescent or florescent light bulbs. * For more information, See Related links below this box
It depends. If you have a compact fluorescent bulb, it is about the same difficulty level as installing an incandescent bulb. If however you are installing a 4 foot long fluorescent tube, it may be considered a bit more difficult because there are 2 pins on each end of the tube that have to line up on each end of the light fixture, thus it would require a bit more effort and coordination. Once you line the end pins up, you push the tube into the slot until it is fully seated, then you give it a quarter turn to lock it in place.
A typical 4-foot fluorescent T-12 light tube produces around 2,300 to 2,600 lumens of light output.
A LUMEN is a unit of measurement of light. It measures light much the same way. Remember, a foot-candle is how bright the light is one foot away from the source. A lumen is a way of measuring how much light gets to what you want to light! A LUMEN is equal to one foot-candle falling on one square foot of area. So, if we take your candle and ruler, lets place a book at the opposite end from the candle. We'd have a bit of a light up if we put the book right next to the candle, you know. If that book happens to be one foot by one foot, it's one square foot. Ok, got the math done there. Now, all the light falling on that book, one foot away from your candle equals both…….1 foot candle AND one LUMEN
Electricity goes through the "electrical foot contact", heats up the wires (connected to the tungsten filament) therefore lighting the light bulb up. The filament is supported by wires. The glass mount holds up the two wires connected to the filament. That is how I think the light bulb works. Have a look.

A four-foot long fluorescent light bulb typically weighs around 2-3 pounds.
A foot candle refers to the the amount of light a light bulb, sun.. etc puts out.
A four foot tube is about $4.95.

You can use a light meter to measure the brightness of a light bulb. This device measures the illuminance or luminance level produced by the light bulb and gives you a numerical value for its brightness in units such as lux or foot-candles.
To find the intensity of a bulb, you can use the formula I = P / A, where I is the intensity, P is the power of the bulb in watts, and A is the area over which the light is spread. Alternatively, you can use a light meter to measure the intensity directly in illuminance units such as lux or foot-candles.
The weight of one 8 foot fluorescent light bulb is 1.2 pounds. Fluorescent light bulbs are available in many colors and color temperatures.
a. is the power on? b. have you put your foot on the brake ? c. has the bulb/fuse gone?
Percentage of contact for soft foot?
I would try pulling the bulb out and see what happens from there.
