This is generally does not happen. But same thing happens in organophosphorus poisoning in many developing countries. They are easily available insecticide there and blocks the enzyme Acetylcholinesterase present in 'ganglion' of autonomous nervous system, in post ganglionic receptor ending of parasympathetic nervous system, in Neuromuscular junction. Central nervous system is also affected. It is blocked irreversibly and then both sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are stimulated. In war between these two counteracting systems parasympathetic nervous system takes over. So patient have pin point pupil, copious salivation,Excessive secretions in bronchial tree. Pain in abdomen due to stimulation of parasympathetic nervous system. Severe perspiration is there. Gastric lavage is done. PAM (Pralidoxime) injections 2 ampules are to be given 8 hourly and thousands of ampules of atropine sulfate are to be given at the rate of 2 ampules every 5 to 10 minutes to keep pupil dilated and with prompt treatment patient usually recovers. Giving lots of credit to treating doctor.
