West Africa Time (WAT; UTC+1) is seven hours ahead of American Central Standard Time (CST; UTC-6). West Africa Summer Time (WAST; UTC+2), which is observed in Namibia from early September through early April, is eight hours ahead of American CST. WAT is six hours ahead of American Central Daylight Saving Time (CDT; UTC-5), which is observed in the U.S., Canada (except Saskatchewan) and northern parts of Mexico from mid-March through early November and in most of Mexico from early April through late October. WAST is seven hours ahead of American CDT.
