∙ 14y agoI am pretty sure the occur at around the island arcs of Hawaii or around the Ring of Fire, which is a volcanic belt that rims the Pacific Ocean. Double check this answer just to be on the safe side.

∙ 8y agoShield volcanoes do not traditionally occur in the continental United States. The predominant type of volcano is the Strato-Volcano or the Compound Volcano. Shield Volcanoes traditionally occur on the Hawaiian islands based off the nature and source of the melt for the volcanism. The Cascades Volcanic range in the Western United States does have a couple of historical shield volcanoes. These can be identified and geographically located through the CVO website.
