Georges Lemaître, a Belgian physicist and Roman Catholic priest, who, in 1927, independently used Friedmann's equations to propose that the inferred recession of the spiral nebulae (per Edwin Hubble's discovery of 1924) was due to the expansion of the Universe, is considered the father of the Big Bang Theory. As such, the Jesuit priest Georges LeMaitre was credited with being the first to mathematically detail a cosmological study now known as the Big Bang.

However the consensus for modeling cosmology was agreed upon based on the work of four scientists: Alexander Friedmann, Georges Lemaître, Howard Percy Robertson, and Arthur Geoffrey Walker. Occasionally referred to as the FLRW, FRW, FL, or RW (e.g., a complete or partial combination of their last initials) Universe, it presents a metric used to explain Einstein's field equation of general relativity and thus became the foundation for the currently understood version of the standard 'Big Bang Theory'.

Note: While the Friedmann Theory preceded the Big Bang Theory, the developed equations were fundamental to establishing a foundation for the Big Bang Theory. Alexander Alexandrovich Friedmann is best known for his pioneering theory that the universe was expanding, governed by a set of equations he developed from Albert Einstein's equations of general relativity, showing that the Universe might be expanding in contrast to the static Universe model advocated by Einstein at that time. From these equations he postulated three Friedmann models describing positive, zero and negative curvature respectively. This dynamic cosmological model of general relativity would come to form the standard for both the Big Bang and Steady State theories.

The name "Big Bang" was coined by Sir Fred Hoyle, who was a life-long proponent of the alternative "steady-state" theory of the universe. He used the phrase "big bang" in a sarcastic way.

How is the big bang theory is an example od scienctific theory?

Hello i am minakshi answer is that the big bang theory is an example of old scientific theory as big bang theory explains that there was an explosion but the isotropy and the homogenity of the universe is not explained by big bang theory to explain his we connect inflatation theory with big bang theory to explain it so the big bang theory is also an example of old scientific theory.

Who are the two scientists that discovered the 2nd piece of evidence of the Big Bang Theory?

The two scientists who discovered the second piece of evidence for the Big Bang Theory are Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson. In 1965, they accidentally detected cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) while working on a microwave radio receiver at Bell Labs. This discovery provided strong evidence for the Big Bang Theory, as the CMB is considered the afterglow of the hot, dense state of the early universe. Their work earned them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1978.

What is the duration of The Big Bang Theory?

The duration of The Big Bang Theory is -1320.0 seconds.

What is the accepted name for the theory which explains the formation of our universe?

The Big Bang is the theory that was developed to describe the origins of the universe.

Who discovered the first real evidence of the big bang?

The first real evidence of the Big Bang was discovered by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson in 1965. They accidentally detected cosmic microwave background radiation while working on a radio antenna at Bell Labs. This faint, uniform radiation is considered a remnant of the early universe and provided strong support for the Big Bang theory. Their discovery earned them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1978.

How can the Steady State theory and Big Bang theory both be true because they were both awarded the Nobel Prize?

# They can't; # What makes you say that the Steady State theory won a Nobel Prize? The Steady State theory is attributable primarily to Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold, and Hermann Bondi, none of whom ever won a Nobel Prize (Hoyle arguably should have shared in the 1983 prize for his work on stellar nucleosynthesis, but that was a separate topic and had little to do with steady state theory). (For that matter, the Big Bang theory was proposed by Georges LeMaitre, who also did not win a Nobel Prize; the 1978 prize for physics went to Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson for their discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation which was considered to be evidence that the Big Bang theory was correct, not for the Big Bang theory itself.)

What is the natural big bang theory?

I know of no such reference for a "natural" Big Bang Theory. Must be just another way of referring to the Big Bang Theory with a differing focus (i.e. kind of like the Hot Big Bang Theory).
