Why do people jump on the bandwagon in support of global warming?

The reasons varies by income and location. The issues vary.

There is a small group that just plain ignore science and feel guilty about their success. Complaining about this and doing minute lifestyle changes that affect nothing makes these people feel better. These are the most foolish of all groups.

The second group is science experts. There is awesome lifestyle and income in spewing the politics of man induced global climate change. Billions are spent each year and little has to be done to become part of this group. Doctor Mann and Hansen are but two of thousands of examples of people that have made big money and maintained awesome lifestyles (with little actual work). The draw here is immense!

The third group is corporations that depend on small minds to buy their products. General Electric stamps "gree" on a microwave and gets an extra 10% for the item.

Big draw for no effort.

The fourth group is third world countries. These countries get trillions in support aid that can really impact their countries lifestyles. It would be foolish for any country to state that global warming will not affect them! That would cost the people of that country dearly!

The fifth group are "hippy" types that automatically believe that because man breaths we are evil. They feel better about the fight for green earth. the best part of this fight is that they need not make real changes. The problem may well disappear by itself!

This is not to say that global climate change is not occurring. BUT, the fact that man has anything to do with it is uncertain (at best). The current warming started over 6000 to 15000 years ago. If man is a real contributor, the issues we must soon face would be massive. NO electric power, NO auto's, far less food and no plastics would just be the tip of the (literal) iceberg!

IF man is an actual contributor we would need to get back to the levels we had 6000 years ago. This involves a great deal of big issues for man.

People may jump on the bandwagon in support of global warming action because they want to be seen as socially responsible or because they genuinely believe in the importance of addressing climate change. Additionally, there may be pressure from social norms or fear of missing out on being part of a popular cause.
