Postmodern characteristics can be seen in art, architecture, music, and fashion. These include a focus on irony, pastiche, bricolage, and a blurring of traditional boundaries and categories. Postmodernism also values subjectivity, individualism, and the deconstruction of dominant narratives.
"Exemplary" means "outstanding" "Postmodern" means nothing because the definition of modern is "made now" (a modern look is one that is in fashion now) - so how can something be here now but made after now....it is artistic gobbledygook. "Spaces" means just that the space outside, the space between structures and the spaces in structures. When people use terms like "exemplary postmodern spaces" thy are being pretentious and trying to set themselves apart as some sort of elite group of savants, different form others in that they are capable of perceiving things which most people can not. When they do this challenge them to explain themselves in plain English and see how they begin to waffle and stutter.
One major difference is their approach to truth and knowledge. Modern societies tend to value objective truth and scientific reasoning, while postmodern societies challenge the idea of objective truth and see knowledge as socially constructed and subjective. Postmodern societies also tend to embrace diversity, individualism, and skepticism towards metanarratives.
Postmodernism is an era which follows modernism (post means after in latin). There is postmodern culture in every aspect of life: art, literature, philosophy, architecture, fiction, economics, etc. It's not only an art movement. One of the most well-known postmodernist concerns is "deconstruction." It means about that there is nothing besides what you see. There is no such thing as outside-the-text. What follows from that is that art (for example paintings) doesn't have to depict anything, since it's only art, only a painting, it represents itself, nothing from outside itself.
